Terms of Service

These terms apply when you use FamilyCareHQ. By creating an account you agree to them. If something here doesn't sit right, please don't sign up — and feel free to reach out so we can understand what's missing.

1. Your agreement with us

FamilyCareHQ is a service operated by Mixed Tape Co. ("we", "us"). By creating an account or using the service you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. You must be at least 18 years old to create an account.

2. Accounts and care circles

  • You're responsible for keeping your password secure and for activity on your account.
  • You may invite family members and caregivers into your circle. Those people get access to the records you've shared with them, based on the role you assign.
  • You can revoke access at any time. Removing someone deletes their access immediately, but content they previously created may remain in your records.
  • If you close your account, your data is retained for 90 days in case you wish to return. After 90 days all your data is permanently deleted from our systems. You can request immediate deletion by emailing getintouch@familycarehq.com.

3. Billing and cancellation

  • Paid plans renew automatically on the cadence you selected (monthly or annually) until cancelled.
  • You can cancel any time from your account; cancellation takes effect at the end of your current paid period — we don't pro-rate refunds for partial months.
  • Lifetime plans provide access for the lifetime of the FamilyCareHQ product as it exists at the time of purchase, subject to reasonable platform changes, legal requirements, or discontinuation of the service.
  • Prices may change, but we'll give existing customers 30 days' notice before any change takes effect.
  • We offer a full refund within 7 days of your first payment if you are unsatisfied. Lifetime Access purchases are refundable within 14 days. Contact getintouch@familycarehq.com to request a refund.

We may modify, improve, or discontinue features from time to time as FamilyCareHQ evolves.

4. Acceptable use

Don't use FamilyCareHQ to:

  • Harass, threaten, or impersonate others.
  • Upload unlawful, malicious, fraudulent, or unauthorized content, including personal or medical information you do not have permission to share.
  • Distribute viruses, malware, or other harmful software.
  • Engage in fraudulent activity, spam, or unsolicited messaging.
  • Probe, scan, or attempt to break our security.
  • Resell or sublicense the service without our written permission.

We may suspend or close accounts that violate these rules. We may also suspend or restrict access where necessary to protect the security, integrity, or reliability of the service.

5. Medical disclaimer

FamilyCareHQ is not a medical device and does not provide medical advice.

The information stored here is to help you organize and share what you already know about your family's care. It is not a substitute for professional medical judgment, diagnosis, or treatment. Always consult a qualified healthcare provider for medical decisions, and call your local emergency number in an emergency — do not rely on this app to summon help.

6. Emergency QR cards — limitation of liability

The Emergency QR Card feature creates a publicly accessible page containing user-entered medical information. FamilyCareHQ makes no warranty as to the accuracy of this information, as it is entered entirely by users. We are not liable for any harm arising from emergency responders acting on information entered incorrectly by users, or from unauthorized access to emergency pages where a QR code has been lost, stolen, or shared.

7. Third-party services

FamilyCareHQ relies on the following third-party services to operate:

  • Stripe — payment processing. Your payment details are handled entirely by Stripe and never stored by us. Stripe's privacy policy applies to payment data.
  • Supabase — database and file storage. Your data is stored on Supabase's infrastructure under strict access controls.
  • Rewardful — affiliate and referral tracking. If you arrived via an affiliate link, Rewardful passes a referral identifier to Stripe at checkout.

9. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time as FamilyCareHQ evolves. If significant changes are made, we will notify users through the app or by email. Continued use of the service after updates means you accept the revised Terms.

10. Liability and disputes

The service is provided "as is" without warranties beyond those required by law. While we aim for high reliability, FamilyCareHQ does not guarantee uninterrupted availability or error-free operation. We are not responsible for delays, interruptions, or failures caused by events outside our reasonable control. Users are responsible for maintaining their own backups or exports of important information stored in FamilyCareHQ.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim relating to the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose. These Terms are governed by the laws of Alberta, Canada. We will try to resolve any dispute informally first — please email getintouch@familycarehq.com before pursuing other remedies.
